Baby boy present

Something that isn't heart shaped for a change!

Just finished this little picture I was asked to make as gift for someone, look at the teeny initials on the sail!
Hope they like it!

Valentines Day!

I spent all day Friday putting the finishing touches onto my Valentines brief from the BTSDA for which I made some small appliqued framed pieces, and a selection of cards.

I had a rumage through my ever expanding stash of fabric, and used a mix of old and new floral, polka dot and generally 'pink' material to pick out and applique some of the detail of my 'Poppy Treffry esque' line drawings designs.

Painted frames with applique and blanket stitched hearts.

Although VERY fiddly, I had lots of fun making and dressing my army of 'gingerbread lovers' complete with hand embelished buttons.

I finished the cards using a screen printed black outline, and I have to say, I was so so pleased with how sweet they looked.
I will most definatly be making some more soon!

I hope they all make someone a lovely Valentines day gift!

Valentines Brief for BTSDA

More hearts!

I have started working on a new brief for the British Textiles and Surface design Association making valentines themed items to be sold at an event on the 12th and 13th of Feb (details to follow!)
These little pictures are just something I made one evening last week, I have a few more ideas in mind.... Best get cracking!

My heart obsession continues....

I am a bit of a Photoshop novice, but I must say I was just a little bit chuffed with this! This was a photo of the anniversary present I made, and after an hour or so of playing in Photoshop, and Ta Daaa!

Handmade Anniversary Present!

My parents recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, and being the 'hard up student' that I am, I decided I would put my crafty talents to use, and make them a present.
After raiding the button tin, this was the result!

Thankfully, they loved it!
